Continuing the tradition of the early owners who
were world travelers and collectors, the Traditional Shop offers imported
and domestic artifacts to satisfy any occasion. Our buyer finds the unusual,
the treasured, as well as the traditional; something not found in the average
shopping mall store. If you need a special present for a bride and groom,
a baby, a friend or even a reward for yourself, you will find it here.
Professional floral designers,
who are also volunteers, use flowers from our beautiful gardens
to create a living background for our collection of gifts. And
for the executive who is too busy to shop, we can provide a personal
shopping service. Christmas at the Traditional Shop, beginning
the first Monday in November, has truly become an institution
for many generations. Parents come in with their children and
recount the Christmases of their own childhood when they were
brought by their parents to this very special place. Dozens of
trees, ornaments and holiday decorations create a unique and
exciting place to come when you are looking for ideas to use
in your own home.
The net proceeds for the Traditional Shop are donated to the Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. The shop is staffed by volunteers, many of whom augment their shop hours with hands-on work with the children at the hospital.
